Keynote Address - Saturday, May 8th, 2010 at 12:00PM

Bob Dixson, Mayor of Greensburg, Kansas

Greensburg, Kansas, was nearly completely destroyed by one of the strongest tornados in recorded history in May 2007.  Eleven residents were tragically killed and those remaining were left with the daunting challenge of rebuilding in a town that was already experiencing economic difficulties prior to the tragedy.

Since his election as mayor in May 2008, Bob Dixson has played a major role in leading the massive rebuilding effort and maintaining the movement started by residents:  that all structures built or rebuilt in Greensburg will be LEED platinum certification, which is the highest certification offered by the United States Green Building Council.  In addition, Mayor Dixson has led city council to pass resolutions making it possible for the city be powered 100% with wind energy.

The Keynote Address will be at the main stage.
